IT’S YOUR CLUB AND NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT

Message from Dave Leach, Cricket Section Chairman.

It may not seem so, looking out of the window but spring and summer is only round the corner and another cricket season will soon be upon us. Planning is well underway to ensure that everything will be in place for another enjoyable and hopefully successful season where we aim to build on last years successes which was led by the trophy winning under 9’s.

As you are aware the cricket section runs junior teams from the youngest future stars and u9’s up to the u18’s and our 3 senior teams. The cost for running these teams and the playing facilities are considerable and as well as playing subscriptions and the additional fund raising which we organise, we still have to rely on sponsorship from the local companies and associated friends.

I appreciate this is possibly not the best financial climate, but I am asking if there is anything you can do to support us, even the smallest gesture would be very much appreciated. In addition to the normal running costs, this year we are also trying to raise an additional £2000 to provide some new portable nets to have a grass wicket practicing facility.
