Welcome to the web site for Walshaw Sports Club Junior Cricket Section. It is going to be an interesting season ahead of us with many new players joining the teams.
We are a small, family friendly section and have a thriving “future stars” section for our younger members and age group teams in the Bolton and District Cricket Association.
The league is the oldest in Lancashire, and the 2nd oldest in the world.

As the end of the season is nearly upon us we though it would be useful updating the website and to let you know about some important events and activities coming up.
I think you will all agree that the weather has been very kind to us over the summer (apart from the last couple of weeks), we haven’t missed a Saturday training session all season and only a few games have fallen to the conditions. We hope to continue the Saturday sessions right up to the end of August with a fun, fund raising event on the last session on the 28th.
Most of the junior cricket fixtures will be finished by mid August but we would like to offer the opportunity for team members moving up to train for a few weeks with their new age group. Any under 9s moving up can borrow equipment but it is recommended they purchase a protective box of their own.
A number of our junior players have been selected to play for the district team and even represented Lancashire, so well done to them and who knows we may have some future England Stars in our mist.
The seniors continue their season until mid September and it makes for a great afternoon supporting the team down at Walshaw. There is a remaining fixtures sheet included in this newsletter. The 3rd team have made it through to their cup and are planning a coach trip to the final on the 8th August, if you are interested in going along supporting speak to
